{"id":1311,"date":"2019-07-17T22:33:22","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T22:33:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.verbier4all.ch\/communications\/press-release-july-17-2019\/"},"modified":"2021-01-25T22:40:48","modified_gmt":"2021-01-25T22:40:48","slug":"press-release-july-17-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.verbier4all.ch\/en\/communications\/press-release-july-17-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Press Release &#8211; July 17 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are pleased to announce the creation of the charitable association, Verbier4All whose purpose is to work towards the inclusion for all in the activities that take place in Verbier and the mountains that surround it.<\/p>\n\n<p>By providing access to the necessary equipment and trained \u2018buddies\u2019, by working closely with T\u00e9l\u00e9verbier, the tourist office and local businesses, we aim to ensure that anyone, regardless of physical or visual deficit, can access the mountains all year round.<\/p>\n\n<p>Verbier4All has already received the backing of T\u00e9l\u00e9verbier which is now actively planning to make its infrastructures more user-\u00adfriendly for people with a physical or visual deficit. T\u00e9l\u00e9verbier has stated that some improvements will already be apparent this summer.<\/p>\n\n<p>Verbier4All is the result of a long-\u00adcherished dream of Val\u00e9rie Vaucher and Annick Meystre.<\/p>\n\n<p>Upon meeting Bethan Drinkall and her team from Ski4All Wales, it became apparent that the moment was right to put their combined expertise, experience and love for Verbier to work. With the addition of the Belgian father of a disabled skier, the association\u2019s composition truly reflects Verbier\u2019s international identity, with members from Switzerland, Britain, and Belgium, making this a truly cross-\u00adborder undertaking.<\/p>\n\n<p>Verbier4All plans to establish a library of adaptive equipment based in the heart of Verbier for the legitimate use of all for a nominal charge designed to cover maintenance and repairs. The association also aims to facilitate the creation of and access to a pool of qualified buddies.<\/p>\n\n<p>It is the aim of Verbier4All\u2019s founders that the association be staffed entirely by volunteers and all funds raised go directly to support the association\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n\n<p><p>The next few months will see Verbier4All fundraising to purchase equipment for this winter. Further information will shortly be available on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.verbier4all.ch\/en\/\">www.verbier4all.ch<\/a><\/p><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our team:<\/h4>\n\n<p><p><strong>Val\u00e9rie Vaucher, President of Verbier4All<\/strong> has a vast experience of running sporting organisations. She has two children, one of whom has a genetic neurodegenerative disease. valerie@verbier4all<\/p><\/p>\n\n<p><p><strong>Bethan Drinkall, Vice President<\/strong> Is the chair and founder of adaptive ski charity, Ski4All Wales and a specialist neurological physiotherapist with over 25 years\u2019 experience in neurological rehabilitation. She runs weekly adaptive ski sessions and has over 10 years\u2019 practical experience of organising adaptive ski trips to Verbier.<\/p><\/p>\n\n<p><p><strong>Annick Meystres, Technical Manager<\/strong> is a well-\u00adknown expert in the field of paraplegic sport in Switzerland and runs D\u00e9fiSports Association with her husband Serge.
